Front end of car number 2. During their final years, both cars of the Old Polybahn ran with Garfield mascots attached to the windscreens. The cars originally had balconies at both ends, but the lower ones were glazed in later. The public did not have access to this compartment, which contained the hand brake control.

The writing was (literally) on the wall when this picture was taken on 28.06.96. The following day would be the finally day of operation of the old Polybahn. The billboard on the left announces the tram parade being held to honour this departure. A new funicular retaining many features of the old was to open in October.
