Spain (RENFE)
Talgo III train at Alicante. Talgo technology revolutionised rail travel in Spain by providing comfortable modern trains, permitting higher speeds in curves, and allowing through running to France thanks to gauge changing technology. The Talgo III trains, with their highly unusual space-age design are now being replaced by newer trains. This view shows a very long Talgo III at Alicante, bound for Madrid, in December 2000.
