Freiburg.

It was end of the road for Sputnik 101 in this April 1995 view of the vehicle being scrapped at Komturstr. depot. The front part is basically a 4 wheeled Verbandstyp car and the rear part is supported on this and on a bogie. Besides being Freiburg's first articulated tramcars, these 3 units built by Rastatt in 1959 introduced other new features to Freiburg such as automatic doors. 101 was the first of this type to be scrapped. 102 (which was once earmarked for preservation, and hence allowed to keep it's beige and green livery and single headlamp) followed suite. 100 still sees sporadic use as an advertising vehicle.
