Basel: Wiesenplatz depot to be rebuilt
Follwing evaluations of various alternative sites for a new depot, the city of Basel has decided to retain Wiesenplatz depot, which was badly damaged by fire last year. The depot will be totally redesigned to meet the requirements of a modern depot, but will retain its listed historic front. A striking modern grass-roofed annexe will be added which will also house administrational facilities.
