90 million Franks for Tram Zürich West filed on: 28.02.2007 (28th Feb 2007) The cantonal parliament has approved its contribution of 90 million Franks for Tram Zürich West by 98 votes to 48. This tram connecting Escher-Wyss-Platz to Bhf Altstetten should open in 2010 and will cost a total of 150 million, of which 59 will be payed by the city of Zürich. It is likely that a federal contribution will reduce these costs by half. It is estimated that the number of jobs in the corridor served will grow by 40% between 2005 and 2015, and the residential population by 110%. The project is subject to a referendum this June. source: 20 Minuten
